Axial bellow expansion joint meaning and function:

The bellows expansion is a compensating element.

The effective expansion and contraction deformation of the bellows working body is used to absorb the dimensional changes of pipes, ducts, containers, etc. caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction ,or to compensate for the axial, lateral and angular displacement of pipes, ducts, containers, etc. It can also be used to reduce noise and vibration.

The bellows compensator is also commonly called an expansion joint It consists of a bellows (an elastic element) and accessories such as end pipes, brackets, flanges, ducts, etc. These components constitute its working body.
It is mainly used for various pipelines, which can compensate for the thermal displacement and mechanical deformation of the pipeline, absorb various mechanical vibrations, thereby reducing the deformation stress of the pipeline and extending the service life of the pipeline.

The connection of the bellows compensator is divided into flange connection and welding. Direct buried pipeline compensators are usually welded (except for trench installation).
