A gate valve is a type of valve that uses a ram or wedge-shaped disc that moves perpendicular to the fluid to open or stop the flow of fluid in the pipe. The opening and closing parts of the gate valve are rams, and the direction of movement is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, which can only be fully opened and closed, and cannot be adjusted and throttled.

Gate valve features:

1. Low fluid resistance: Because the medium channel inside the gate valve body is straight, the medium does not change the flow direction when it flows through the gate valve, so the fluid resistance is small.
2. Labor-saving opening and closing: The direction of movement of the ram is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, and the opening and closing are more labor-saving.
3. The flow direction of the medium is not restricted: The medium can flow in any direction on both sides of the gate valve, which is suitable for pipelines where the flow direction of the medium may change.
4. Short structural length: The gate plate of the gate valve is vertically placed in the valve body, and the structural length is shorter than that of the globe valve.
5. Good sealing performance: The sealing surface is less corroded when fully opened, but the sealing surface is easy to be damaged, which affects the service life.
